Birthday Bashes
After our Utah trip we came home and celebrated Elli's 4th birthday. She is so grown up-I can't believe it. After much deliberation, she decided upon a Dinosaur Party and we had so much fun! I really enjoyed making her stegosaurus cake...it turned out really cool. It wasn't bad after I figured out what Fondant was and where on earth to get it from.

Elli had lots of friends over for her party (though she did miss Jacob and Lauren) and we played all kinds of dinosaur games. We dug up dinosaurs in the Webb's sand box. Sergio buried over 50...who knows how they all fit...and they were hard to find, too. All the little paleontologists got a sand bucket to collect their spoils. It was so fun to watch them.
We then searched for dinosaur eggs at the Copeley playground. We told the kids that while we had been digging for bones, some dinosaurs had come and layed eggs at the park. They had a blast collecting easter eggs filled with plastic dinos and candy. All in all, it was a great party...we all had lots of fun.
Just a few weeks later, we celebrated Ethan's 2nd birthday with family and friends and a gigantic "Choo Choo Train Cake" (in Ethan's own words). Ethan LOVES trains...so the cake definitely fit the occasion. He had so much fun playing at Grandma's house the night before, and on the big day he loved opening presents, playing with his cousins, and eating at his favorite Indian restaurant (well, actually it's mine and Katie's favorite Indian restaurant... but, he had fun there, too)
